RURAL UPLIFTMENT PROGRAMME IN INDIA

As we know India got freedom in 1947.Before freedom the countrymen were had only one question i.e.'how to get free the country from the English?'but after independance there were many questions and many problems generated before the countrymen and the Indian government such as uplifting of society, women empowerment, farmer's welfare, uplifting of Indian education, employment, medical etc..

Seeing the above problem, the government felt that there is a quick need of reforms, especially in rural areas..So he launched Rural uplift programmes in the year 1952 under community development programme. It's main aim was to change the outlook of the interior area of the country by building and initiating the countrymen to get rid of orthodoxy.
At that time the most of the villagers were illiterate and they did not have any idea about the modern technologies. This is because the role of the ruler upliftment programme were quite ambitious. At first The villagers were informed about the Technologies. By using the scientific method of agriculturer the production of Barley, wheat, rice were increased. As we know the cottage industries were backbone of the village wage earners.so the government  helped the  people to create goods for the cottage industries.  This was such a great work.
There were also many programmes and schemes which were initiated by the government for the Welfare of society and especially the villages and some of these scheme are still available.Such as...
1. Mahila coir Yojana

2. Krishi sinchai Yojana

3. Pradhanmantri Gramin Aawas Yojana

After completion of 5 years of the ruler upliftment programme. The results were really impressive. There were many reforms took place the road link to the villages, the problem of water and electricity were also solved in many of those villages. The main thing was that the employment opportunities were also increased which helped people to be self dependent especially the women one.
The one of the most and the main feature of the community development was the Panchayati Raj which helped peoples to do the work for their betterment and improvement.  This was the mini form of the government.

In conclusion, we can say that it was such a great step taken by the government.it helped people in many ways for their betterment but still there is a need of improvement in the life of landless labour, farmers, womens, and in the field of education and health in rural areas.
